Making Space Transportation Configurable and Reliable

Agnikul team on ground

We design and manufacture orbital-class launch vehicles. With diverse expertise spanning engineering, manufacturing, and software, we work together to design, develop, and deliver solutions that make space more accessible. United by a shared vision, we believe space transportation should be mission-focused and fully customizable to meet the unique needs of every journey.

Vision

The journey to space shouldn’t be the hardest part of your mission. By simplifying space transportation, we enable you to focus on your payload, your data, your purpose.

Mission

To deliver cost-effective and flexible space launches while still meeting mission demands. Making space more accessible— Launch anywhere, anytime, affordably.

Our Journey

Ideation

As the satellite industry evolved, it became apparent that small satellites required a more accessible and flexible launch system. Agnikul was created to address this gap.

Formalizing the Vision

Agnikul Cosmos started as a company in Chennai, India, and began its operations from the National Center for Combustion R&D at Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT-M).

Ignition Initiated

We fired the first set of igniters and single injector element thrusters. We were also accepted by IIT Madras Incubation Cell and became a part of the Airbus Accelerator.

First Customer

We began signing agreements with potential customers, along with securing a seed round of funding from Speciale Invest. We also became a part of the Kerala Startup Mission community. On the technology front, we developed our first single-piece, fully 3D-printed upper stage engine.

Partnership with Space Agency

We became the first space-tech company to sign an agreement with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), under the then newly announced space initiatives. This led to a series of partnerships with launchports, customers, and key vendor partners. We also raised another round of funding.

From Printing to Firing

We successfully fired our single-piece 3D-printed engine, Agnilet, and achieved steady-state performance. We raised Series A funding from a group of institutional and angel investors as part of our fundraising journey.

Two New Facilities, One Year

We inaugurated the first-of-its-kind facility, Agnikul Rocket Factory-01, where 3D-printed rocket engines are manufactured, and also established India's first private launchpad, Agnikul Launchpad-01, at SDSC SHAR. In the same year, we signed an MoU with IN-SPACe. We successfully test-fired Agnilet engine at Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, one of ISRO's facilities, and received flight termination system from ISRO.

Our Rocket Meets Our Launchpad

Our suborbital launch vehicle was erected on our private launchpad at SDSC SHAR. We qualified our single-piece, 3D-printed engine for its upcoming flight and then successfully carried out the engine stack test.

Mission - 01

On 30th May at 0715hrs Agnibaan SOrTeD, MISSION – 01 successfully launched from Agnikul Launchpad-01, SDSC SHAR, Sriharikota, India, marking several firsts in the space industry.

Scaling Up and More...

We achieved the AS9100D certification. The Large Format Additive Metal Manufacturing (LFAMM) Facility was inaugurated which houses India's largest 3D printer and indigenously developed depowdering machine. Currently, we continue onboarding new customers, expanding our reach and strengthening our client base.
